Activities
at Pickwick Lake
For
the avid or casual golfer there are 3 18 hole golf courses within
1 mile of Pickwick Dam. Shiloh Falls is semi-private, has a restaurant
and club house and lounge. Shiloh Falls championship course was
designed by Jerry Pate. Pickwick Landing State Park has pro shop
and cart rentals and is open to the public.
Fox Chase is public and moderately priced.
If tennis is your game there are courts at Aqua Yacht Harbor,
Shiloh Falls and Pickwick Landing state park.
There are 3 outstanding marinas within 3 miles of each other.
All 3 have covered boat slips available to rent and gas docks. There
is a service facility at Aqua Yacht Harbor and a travel lift that
can pick up 100,000 lb. boats. It is the second largest inland marina
in the U.S. and is at the mouth of the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway.
These marinas also have boat ramps for loading and unloading of
small craft.
If Civil War History is your thing, There are 2 parks within
a 20 mile radius. Shiloh National Park, and Corinth Civil War Interpretative
center with also a walking tour.
Camping
activities are offered at Pickwick Landing State Park, Coleman State
Park, Goat Island Park and Tishomingo State Park.
For the boating enthusiast there is over 400 miles of shoreline
in Pickwick Lake for the enjoyment of cruising and quiet anchorages.
The avid fisherman will enjoy the most desirable large mouth
and striped bass fishing in the Mid-South with plenty of quiet peaceful
coves. If you so desire there are several fine fishing guides available
to hire.
Pickwick Yacht Club- a lovely waterfront retreat with a 2 mile
view on Yellow Creek, large dining deck, dockage, and dinner parties
on a regular basis. The club is a member of Yacht Clubs of America.
We reciprocate with other clubs throughout the United States.
Only a short distance away is the quiet town of Corinth. Downtown
Corinth offers unique shops and a peaceful court square. On Thursday
night the locals come to the court square to enjoy local bluegrass
music.
